Random abdominal pain?

For the past couple of weeks I've been having mild to moderate pains in random places around my abdomen (and, occasionally around the testicular area), although only usually lasting for a couple of hours the most at a time. I am not feeling physically sick and bowel movements are normal, so I'm thinking it may be possibly growing pains, although I'm 16 (which seems strange). I have been to a doctors (it's not my appendix) but they seem to think it may just be muscle pain. If so this is confusing, considering I have done no hard exercise in the past few weeks and even so, it would not explain why it is in so many different places. Any ideas on what it may be?
